Geocaching Introduction

TXGA has produced a quick introduction to Geocaching to provide to land owners, city park officials, or interested friends. The presentation is done in Flash so you can view it from any Internet Explorer browser session.

Travel Bug Passport

Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) offers a printable (PDF) Passport to accompany your travel bug on his journey. The goal: to eliminate the need for a Travel Bug graveyard.

They are gone, but not forgotten. This is a place where owners of travel bugs that have "passed on" may bury and memorialize them. This gets deceased bugs off the cache pages as well as out of the owners' hands; while still maintaining the history, logs, and finds for the bugs. Visitors and mourners alike may come here to visit and read the life stories of bugs that have been laid to rest.

GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)

GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)

Downloading this now and will see how well it stands up against EasyGPS. Apparently, it has a lot more features. I'll post more once I've installed it and have kicked the tires - so to speak.

More pictures from today's cache find.

This is a test post from Hello from Picasa. This photo was taken from our recent trek to find HTGA Leftovers.

NTGA Leftovers Cache Found!

Amanda and I went out again today. What a better way to spend New Years Day! We discovered yet another section to the Emma Long park system. The Turkey Creek trail is absolutely amazing! As you can see from the photos below, the are some stunningly beautiful scenes all along the creekside trail system.

We actually found this cache en route to UncleRejelio's Recycled cache; which we never found. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic time and will certainly add the Turkey Creek trail system to our Austin living.

Recipe for Success Cache Found!

Amanda and I went out again yesterday (New Year's Eve day) and located the Recipe for Success cache. This cache's theme, as you may have guessed, is a recipe-swap. We took a neat recipe for no-bake cookies and left one for my world-famous 3-bean, 3-meat Guiness chili.

Here's some pictures from the trek:
